Karlsuhe II, Scapa Flow, Orkney - Scotland

Karlsruhe II at sea

Dive briefing from Roy

Entry: 14:01
Dive time: 27min
Depth: 25.3m
Temp: 14 degrees C
Weights: 12kg
Scapa2#1
Buddy: Danielle

Not a great start to the trip! We got a wee bit lost going down the shot line and didn't find the wreck.
Ended up swimming around in circles for a while but didn't manage to see it.
Found a big chain just as we were about to surface and followed it but there was nothing at the end.

The Karlsruhe is used as a 'warm-up' dive as its depth is between 14-27m.  It's also not very far from Stromness and located close to the island of Cava, at its northwesterly tip.  In the map above, it is located at position 5.

Didn't find it today but would find it later on in the trip.

It was great getting back to Scapa. Drove up in the ‘Paddy Wagon’. It was a nice drive up to Gill’s Bay ferry terminal over to Stromness to then load stuff up directly to the MV Karin.
